For Pasadena Heritage’s Craftsman Week, chef, natural perfumer, and sensory educator Jeffrey Paul, founder of The Aromatic Gourmet, is creating three signature perfumed cocktails inspired by Craftsman-era Pasadena and California.

Each cocktail will use aroma, flavor, presentation, and historical references to interpret the culture and character of the period through the senses. Accompanied by specially created menu cards and visual storytelling, the cocktails are designed to complement the experience of the historic Craftsman setting.

Through The Aromatic Gourmet, Jeffrey brings together the disciplines of gastronomy and perfumery, using scent and taste as tools for sensory storytelling and cultural interpretation.

Jeffrey Paul is a chef, natural perfumer, sensory educator, and founder of The Aromatic Gourmet, where he brings together gastronomy and perfumery to explore history, culture, and place through aroma and flavor. A Johnson & Wales-trained chef, Jeffrey has worked across French, Japanese, American, and Italian cuisines and studied natural perfumery in Grasse, Los Angeles, and Italy. He teaches natural perfumery at the Institute for Art and Olfaction and has created sensory experiences for institutions including the Getty, the Huntington, and the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles. His work uses scent, taste, and presentation to bring historical periods and cultural experiences to life.
