Orange Heights Walking Tour

Join us for a rare opportunity to explore the Orange Heights/Barnhart Tracts Historic District, a remarkable neighborhood nationally recognized for its beautifully preserved historic character.

Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995, Orange Heights was Pasadena’s first neighborhood to receive this prestigious designation.

At the turn of the 20th century, Pasadena experienced a population boom that transformed portions of the city’s landscape. What was once sprawling orange groves evolved into one of Pasadena’s most architecturally significant residential areas.

On this tour, you will discover homes designed by some of the city’s most celebrated architects and builders, including Cyril Bennett, Kenneth A. Gordon, Sylvanus B. Marston, Southern California master architect Irving Gill, and D. M. Renton; an accomplished Craftsman builder credited with 17 homes in the district.
