Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Ford Place is a residential subdivision created in 1902. This small District of ten houses includes a fascinating mix of Craftsman, Shingle, Prairie, Tudor Revival, and Mission Revival styles. Currently Ford Place is part of the Fuller Seminary Campus. There is a lot of new development surrounding this area, and several historic properties are being closely watched by Pasadena Heritage, including the Scottish Rite Temple, the former First Congregational Church of Pasadena, and the Fuller campus. The Blinn House is Pasadena Heritage’s new home, so we welcome you for an interior tour.

Greene and Greene’s designs for the Gamble House and its furniture were constructed under the direction of contractor Peter Hall and cabinetmaker John Hall, Sweden-born brothers whose team of craftsmen cut, joined, carved, and hand-rubbed 17 species of wood, producing what is recognized today as one of the greatest achievements in early 20th century American architecture and craftsmanship. Your guide for this highly sought-after tour is contemporary woodworker and cabinetmaker Jim Ipekjian, who has studied the art and craft of the Greenes and the Halls for more than 40 years, gaining an intimate knowledge of how their works were created from a craftsman's point of view. On this three-hour tour (with a break for light refreshments), Mr. Ipekjian shares his knowledge of how woods were selected, joinery techniques, the collaborative process, and the intricacies of inlay, metalwork, and leaded art glass created especially for the house.
